Women doctors with many of last several presidents being women have traditionally played a very significant role in the Indian Medical Association of New England. The organization has had some sort of women's group or forum often in its history .The group, originally launched in 2003 or 2004, was re-launched in October 2008 after a period of inactivity under the leadership of Dr Manorma Mathur, Dr Mohani Malhotra and Dr Prema Ramdev. Meeting was hosted at the home of Dr Bhanu Devi.
 
Current IMANE President Dr. Sapna Aggarwal has re-launched the forum this year after inactivity for a gap of couple of years; Dr. Deepa Jhaveri has been appointed as the chair & Dr Manju Sheth is co-chair of the forum. 

Dr Jhaveri, who is a podiatrist at Lahey clinic in Danvers, Mass., said "We decided to have more formal Women's Forum after doing informal gatherings of women doctors for many years, to have a more focused plan for meetings. Women not only enjoy networking with other women, but we learn a lot from each other".
  
Dr Manju Sheth who is a past president of IMANE and Chair of INE multimedia said ''I am really excited to bring back  IWF by popular demand. It tells me that women want to continue to network with other women health care providers not just in traditional medicine but alternative medicine as well in the modern world of integrated medicine.”

The Women's Forum plans to link with organizations working with women in this area and helping with social causes, fundraising, and networking with other women physicians, promoting Indian culture, developing a support system and empowering women to be achievers

The first Meeting is planned for March 20^th at Burlington library (2-4 pm) and will feature a talk from Kavita Chibber on “Healing relationships through Energy Medicine and Vaastu Shastra."Your inner state always reflects your outer world. An interactive presentation by Kavita Chhiber on healing relationships to create a peaceful environment through energy medicine and the ancient science of space design'' (Vaastu Shastra). 

Women's Forum meetings are also not restricted to IMANE members only .All women physicians are invited to join all forum meetings. Women's Forum is planning to have meetings every 4 months to bring together women doctors to network and socialize.
