Blackstone Valley India Society Diwali Celebrations

Blackstone Valley India Society, Grafton MA, celebrated 13th annual Diwali Cultural Program on December 6 at Grafton High School. More than 40 artists/groups enthralled the audience with Carnatic classical music, Hindi,Tamil and Punjabi songs, Instrumental music, Mimicry, Bollywood dances and Bhangra. One of the main feature of the event was fabulous Fashion show sponsored by Renu Gupta. Aroma of mouth-watering food and gajar halwa whetted people’s appetite, and  everybody enjoyed it.

The event received overwhelming response from local Indian families. Everybody enjoyed the wonderful performances and milieu of the audience was electric! Emcee’s Neetu Gupta, Pankaj Gupta,  Sonali Panda and Ramnik Mayor, and were fabulous!.Event that left everlasting impress wouldn’t have been possible without works of many volunteers and sponsors: Kumon Grafton, Math Altitude, Worcester, Pepperoni Express, Grafton, Russian School of Mathematics, Shrewsbury, Khel Shrewsbury, Udupi, and Apple Tree Arts, Grafton. In the end President Sudhakara Gurrala thanked the audience and performers for showcasing their talent!

The purpose of Blackstone Valley India Society, Grafton MA, is to unite and organize the Indian community in the New England area with the goal of preserving its cultural heritage. In addition, the organization aims to encourage its members to extend charitable efforts for the service of the local community.
