Press Release
10/22/2015

Ayurveda Cookbook launch and Recipe tasting event at Shri Dwarkamai Vidyapeeth in Billerica, MA

The Ayurveda cookbook was launched at Shri Dwarkamai Sai Baba temple in North Billerica on 17 October 2015. Shri Anil Naik, Shri Sanjay Saxena , Ms Sangeeta Saxena, Ms Rekha Chitre and Shri Kanayo Lala were guest of honors. At this occasion 25 volunteers made the recipes according to the book and were available for tasting at the event.

This book is a divine blend of traditional Indian knowledge of Ayurveda (Ayurveda is a 5000+ year old Vedic Indian science that focuses on maintaining a natural well-being of a person through mind, body and consciousness) and traditional vegetarian Indian recipes based on Ayurveda.

A harmonious balance between the mind, body, and consciousness can be attained through mindful dietary habits. In a fast-paced world driven by microwavable meals and frozen foods, oftentimes it is difficult to carefully construct a meal to suit our individual needs. This Ayurveda Cookbook does an excellent job in explaining Ayurveda’s approach on understanding and identifying one’s body type (doshas), and then feeding their bodies with foods that are best suited to their body type. This book contains a plethora of simple, easy to cook, home cooked vegetarian recipes that will enable the readers to apply their knowledge in the kitchen.

Author Aparna Pattewar (BAMS,PGPP,RMAS,RAP)  is a consulting Ayurveda Practitioner and Panchakarma specialist. She is classically trained in Ayurveda. Pattewar is the student of world renowned Dr. Vasant Lad and has learned pulse diagnosis under his guidance. She offers Ayurveda nutritional and diet consulting at the Shri Dwarkamai Health and Wellness Center at the Sai Baba Temple in North Billerica, MA.

Author Rupen Rao is an international food entrepreneur residing in Washington, DC. Over the past decade, he has taught Indian cooking to more than 20,000 participants, including cooking lessons in parts of United States and Europe.

The book is available for purchase at the www.aparnaayurveda.com and at the Shri Dwarkamai health and wellness center.
