Saheli Receives Lifetime Achievement Award From Asian American Commission

The Asian American Association of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts held its 9th Annual Unity Dinner at University of Massachusetts Boston on October 15, 2015. The Unity Dinner serves to promote deeper relationships among Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities and between communities of all ethnic backgrounds.


As part of the celebrations, Saheli received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Rita Shah and Salita Mehta received the award on behalf of Saheli. Other members of the community present there to support Saheli included Gouri Banerjee, Lata Rao, Latha Mangipudi, Neelam Wali, Anupam Wali, Girish Mehta, Anu Yadav, Trupti Patel, Manju Sheth, Pradeep Audho, Zehra Khan, Upendra Mishra and Anil Saigal. Presenting the award was Kajal Chattopadhyay, the Commission Chairman.

Saheli enables women to lead sage and healthy lives by offering a range of free services geared specifically towards the challenges faced by South Asian immigrants.
