Udavum Karangal of USA presents a spectacular solo dance drama titled Panchali Shabadam by Smt. Urmila Satyanarayanan who is among the most inspired and dedicated Bharathanatyam exponents of India today. Nimble movements and the pristine purity of her expressions create spellbinding magic, holding the audience in thrall. She had her initial training under Padmashri K. N. Dandayauthapani Pillai and later under Kalaimamani Smt. K. J. Sarasa. She has received numerous awards including Nritya Choodamani, Kalamamani, and Nadanamamani. Smt. Satyanarayanan has given performances in several countries including USA, UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Norway, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.

In a fundraiser to support Udavum Karangal, an NGO with the sole objective of serving people in distress who are orphans & destitutes, Urmila presents Panchali Shabadam, a solo dance drama taken from the grand epic, the Mahabharata. She will be accompanied by a live orchestra. Urmila is famous for bringing alive the complex characters from this great epic. Composed by the violin maestro, Lalgudi Jayaraman, and written by the poet, VaVeSu, this dance drama has received rave reviews. Urmila will be accompanied by a live orchestra.
