Have a great dinner, Enjoy the dance, and Educate a child!

The Boston Chapter of AIM for Seva will celebrate with our donors the culmination of our 2015 fundraising campaign with the acclaimed dance drama Sundara Kandam - The Signet of Hope on September 18th at Regis College Arts Center in Weston.  The first staging of this dance, at the Music Academy in Chennai earlier this month, got a standing ovation and rounds of thunderous applause.  Based on the fifth book of Valmiki’s Ramayana, the Sundara Kandam is the story of Hanuman’s prowess in leaping to Lanka, finding Devi Sita in great torment, giving her Sri Rama’s signet ring to restore hope that she would be rescued, and then returning to Kishkinda with the good news of her being alive, after setting fire to Lanka as a parting shot!  Hanuman was called Sundara (beautiful) by his mother Anjana, and this dance drama tells the beautiful story of this greatest of devotees of Sri Rama.

This is a charity benefit program, with free passes for seating & dinner given to all donors.  Please register to donate by clicking on the link below and indicate in the RSVP box (under the credit card information) the number of passes you need.  You can pick up your passes at the theater on the day of the program.

AIM for Seva: A Worthy Cause

The All India Movement (AIM) for Seva is transforming the lives of thousands of rural and tribal children in India by hosting them in Free Student Homes (FSH) and enabling them to complete school education. Our FSHs provide them a safe, caring, and nurturing home-away-from-home environment for learning and self-development. Supporting one child at an FSH costs $450 per year for boarding, food, clothes, school supplies, and healthcare.

We humbly request you to donate most generously to sponsor these children’s education. You may already be supporting other charitable causes, so please allow us to list three reasons to include AIM for Seva also in your philanthropy:

1.      It supports and enables poor and underprivileged children in remote regions to get educated. We commit to taking a child from about age eight and completely supporting him/her with shelter, schooling, food, health care and value education for 6-8 years. Our UN recognized model reduces drop-out rates from over 60% to almost 0%, with many of them going on to pursue higher studies.

2.      We are focused, dedicated, and effective. Our overhead is below 10%. In 2015, AIM for Seva received the highest 4 Star **** Rating from US based Charity Navigator and also the Platinum Certificate from Guide Star India. Both these attest to the accountability, transparency, and efficacy of our organization.

3.      In 14 years, we have built and are operating 106 FSHs in 15 states, serving over 4,000 children every year, and total 14,000 so far.  Our goal is to have 300 FSHs in as many districts of India by 2020.  We count on your generous support to realize this goal.

Sponsor A Child: Donate the Hope to Dream

We request you to sponsor at least one child for one year by donating $450. Other sponsor levels are: $225 -- 6 months of care; $125 -- 3 months; $40 -- 1 month; $25 -- 15 days. Higher levels are listed at the donation website.  Our Boston Chapter is supporting 121 children in five FSHs in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, and Madhya Pradesh. Our goal is to raise $ 125,000 this year for their support, and to build new classrooms.  AIM for Seva is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.  Your donation is fully tax deductible, with more than 90% going directly to the operations of the FSHs.

Please view the list of companies that match employee contributions and select your employer if they are listed there.  Kindly also request if your company can match your donation, if not listed.
