On Friday, August 14th, Consul General of India to the US of New York rang the Closing Bell of NASDAQ in Times Square,  marking India's 69th Independence Day.  Hon. Consul General Dyanesh Mulay was joined by Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal and prominent Indian Americans Kumu Gupta - KUMU Consulting  along with  State Bank of India US Head Ms. Padmaja Chunduru, Ankur Vaidya - President FIA NY/NJ/CT and members of Indian American community for 6th year in a row, celebrating combined market capitalization of USD 43 billion, among the 5 Indian companies MakeMyTrip.com, Rediff, Videocon, d2h and Cognizant currently listed on NASDAQ.

Also, for the occasion, the Empire State Building was lit in India's tricolors Orange, White and Green as in previous years and an attempt was made by the India Day Parade down Madison Avenue to enter the Guinness World Book of Records as the largest India Day Parade in US.
