Fun Life Adult Day Care Holds Successful Open House

Press Release
07/16/2015

Fun Life Adult Day Care of Marlborough, MA held a successful open house on Saturday, July 11. Over 150 people stopped by the Maple Street facility.  At the open house, perspective clients were greeted by Tufts Health Plan employees, a co-host of the event.  Individual tours were provided on Saturday showcasing the 6,000-square-foot space. The largest room where clients are served hot breakfast and lunch daily can also be transitioned into a game room, exercise area or movie theater. Other rooms throughout the facility include a fitness room with treadmills and free weights, a technology room where clients can build their computer skills, and a nurses room where medications, vitals and insulin shots can be administered. All areas are handicap accessible. Open house attendees were also encouraged to participate in an instructor-guided group yoga session, one of the many program offerings at the center.

The center is owned and operated by a brother and sister team of Malay and Palak Patel. The concept of adult day care came to the Palak family based on the need they observed from within their own community. The center is licensed to host 75 adults. Most of the 55 clients already enrolled in the program are of Indian or South-Asian descent. "We have done very little marketing of Fun Life Adult Day Care. Most of our clients heard about us from word of mouth," Palak said. The day care center is free to Mass Health and Tufts Health Plan qualified adults. Daily transportation to and from the center is also provided free of charge.
