IAGB Announces Two New Student Awards

IAGB is one of the oldest and secular Indian-American organizations in New England. In accordance with its mission to serve charitable, educational and social purposes, IAGB is instituting two new awards for high school and college students.

Award Name: IAGB Community Youth Excellence Awards
IAGB is inviting nominations for “IAGB Community Youth Excellence Award” to recognize up to two individuals who demonstrate the most outstanding achievements in one or more of the following:

1. Excellence in academic achievements 
2. Excellence in community service
3. Excellence in arts and music
4. Excellence in sports
5. Excellence in professional achievements
6. Exceptional service of an altruistic nature for the greater good of the community
7. Any other areas not mentioned above
Criteria:
Rising Junior or senior high school students of Indian Origin
Location: Resident of MA and Attending school in MA

Please submit the nominations with accomplishments along with a brief summary explaining why the individual should be considered for this prestigious excellence award to iagb@iagb.org. The nominations must be received on or before August 7, 2015. Late submissions will not be accepted. 

A committee of three members will invite the applications from the eligible candidates. The committee will have a final say in selecting the award recipients after carefully reviewing all the candidates. The selected individuals will be recognized and honored at India Day Celebrations.

Award Name: India Association of Greater Boston (IAGB) Scholars
IAGB is inviting nominations for “India Association of Greater Boston (IAGB) Scholars” from graduating seniors who have met the following criteria.
1. Graduate of public high school located in Massachusetts
2. Attending four year public college or university in Massachusetts
3. Students of Indian Origin
4. Demonstrated scholastic achievement
5. Active in community service
6. Need-based financial aid recipient (This only requires a copy of the letter from the College/University stating that the applicant is a financial aid recipient)

Up to two individuals may be considered for this $500 award.

Please submit the nominations with relevant requested information along with a brief summary explaining why the individual should be considered for this Award to iagb@iagb.org. The nominations must be received on or before August 7, 2015. Late submissions will not be accepted.
