NESSP Sai Palkhi Procession Continues To Bring Blessings To The Devotees

NESSP initiated annual Sai Palkhi Utsav on May 23, 2015.  The initiation started off with Kakad Aarti to Baba followed by kid’s cultural program and plakhi initiation. This enormous event was witnessed by about 500 people including kids, who celebrated and immersed in joy. On May 24th, NESSP volunteers and the devotees performed Bhoomi shuddhikaran pooja with Kalash jal on  the land acquired to build a permanent home for Sri Sai. This was performed under the guidance of the priests Sri Satish Sharma and Sri Nagendra Sastry.  

NESSP received an overwhelming response from the community requesting Baba’s palkhi to their homes and to gratify the devotee’s requests; NESSP has extended the palkhi procession to go on for 10 weekends and plans to conclude on the weekend of Guru poornima. NESSP, this year is taking Sai palkhi to almost 200 devotee homes across the New England area. As a part of the procession all the volunteer devotees along with priests are continuously planting their efforts to run the entire procession smoothly. Each weekend palkhi is beautifully decorated with flowers and garlands with a specific theme. Baba’s Palkhi is accompanied by Lakshmi Kalash held by a kanya(Young Girl). At each house the devotees sing the glory of the lord in the form of bhajan and chant hymns with spiritual merriment and bliss.

NESSP celebrating 1st International YOGA day by conducting an extended yoga session on June 21, 2015 from 8:30 am to 10:30am     

 There will be Simple, Gentle YOGA, Asana-Postures, Pranayam – Breathing Exercises, Dhyaan –Meditation, YOGA Nidra

NESSP acquired 28 acre land in Groton, MA and we are in the process of finalizing the general contractor and making every effort to start the construction of the permanent temple for our Beloved BABA. To achieve the mission and vision, NESSP has been trying to raise funds through various fund raising programs including divine leaf, brick, dollar a day, donate for Square foot. “Interest free loans” program has been recently introduced which is embraced by the community and raised approximately 250K. NESSP is still short of 500K to reach its goal to finish the first phase of the temple and is looking forward for the continued  support from the community.

NESSP is an independent local organization that has been serving the devotee needs for last nine years. In addition to temple related activities, NESSP also believes in helping the community that its part of. The organization has an active Charitable and Philanthropy charter. The different charitable activities NESSP has undertaken in the past are: Disaster Relief, Annadaan (food donation) to the homeless, Winter Clothes drive – Collection and distribution of warm winter clothes to the needy. Red Cross Blood donation drives, Lowell General hospital cancer center walks. NESSP conducts free health camps and Dental camps, Meditation and Yoga sessions. NESSP also conducts chess classes and academic competitions for kids. NESSP is virtuously run by a dedicated team of volunteers
