IMANE Participates In Health And Wellness Expo

Indian Medical Association of New England (IMANE) participated at the INE Health & Wellness Expo chaired by IMANE past president  Dr. Manju Sheth on Sunday, April 19th which was  attended by about 2500 visitors. IMANE members were thrilled that Dr. Manju Sheth our past president chaired the event, which was coordinated by Upendra Mishra of INE news.

We as IMANE,
-Provided  HEALTH SCREENINGS including blood pressure checks, pulse, height, weight, bmi, blood sugar checks, vision screening, depression screening & 'Ask the 'Doctor' segment to about 120 visitors.
-Collected many BONE MARROW donor specimens,with the help of volunteers from organization samar.
-Our IMANE SPEAKERS shared their knowledge & expertise with a large number of audience- Dr. Dinesh Patel, Dr. Paul Mathew, Dr.Subha Thiagarajan
-Our MODERATORS successfully conducted various educational panels- Dr. Apurv Gupta, Dr. Seema Arora, Dr. Tapasya Srivastava, Dr. Sapna Aggarwal, Dr, Smita Patel.
-CHIEF MODERATOR, Dr. Deepak Takhtani, who was also our committee member last year, was excellent.
-Many NEW MEMBERS joined IMANE during our membership drive at the expo.

I would like to thank all the committee members for spending their time & effort in months of planning & preparation of this segment of the event and especially to those committee members who came and helped on site - Dr. Subha Thiagarajan, Dr. Smita Patel, Dr.Tapasya Shrivastava, Dr. Manorama Mathur, Dr. Geeta Trivedi, Dr. Sapna Aggarwal, Dr. Paul Mathew, Dr. Suresh Reddy, Dr. Devila Shah, Dr. Pramod Shah, Dr.Teju Shah & all the volunteers. Thanks to Dr Manorama Mathur, Dr.Geeta Trivedi and Gope Gidwani for getting equipment, supplies & office staff.

Special Thanks to Community Service Committee Chair, Dr. Subha Thiagarajan, & Co Chair, Dr. Smita Patel and Membership Committee Chair, Dr.Tapasya Shrivastava for all the hard work put in.

Our next event is - Spring CME meeting 'UPDATES IN RISK/PAIN MANAGEMENT' on May 9th, 8am-2pm at Mass Medical Society headquarters in Waltham, MA. Physicians get 5 category 1 CME credits by attending an excellent series of lectures. Included is Continental Breakfast & Indian Lunch.
