Shri Sai Chavadi Temple in Canton rings in the new year with Vaikuntha Ekadasi celebrations

Sri Sai Chavadi temple celebrated its first New year’s day on Jan 1st, 2015 with the participation of 100‘s of devotees after its grand opening in Canton, MA. The occurrence of Vaikunta Ekadasi on the same day made this day even more special for the devotees. It is widely believed that the gates to the Vaikuntha [heaven] are open on the Vaikuntha Ekadasi day and whoever worships lord Vishnu on this day will reach Vaikuntha [heaven]. It is one of the most auspicious days in Vishnu temples in India.

The temple had special timings on the day of New Year’s Eve, with special bhajans including kid’s slokas and adult chanting’s from 8 pm till midnight followed by Laghu aarti. The devotees welcomed the New Year with spiritual bliss in the temple with the divine presence of Baba.

New Year’s Day program started at 7:30 AM with Kakad aarti, followed by Baba’s abhishekam and Vaikuntha Dwara pooja.  Archana and Laghu aarti were performed every hour throughout the day. More than 1000 devotees received divine blessings from Sri Shirdi Sai Baba on this auspicious day.

There was a special Bhajan program conducted by Walpole Satya Sai Center from 4:30 PM onwards. Lot of people, volunteers as well as the devotees who came to the temple for darshan contributed to the success of this program. May Sri Sai Baba’s blessings be showered on all the people and their families who participated and volunteered in making this event a huge success.

The temple is getting ready for Pongal and Republic day celebrations in the month of January.
