Press Release
12/17/2014

AID Boston’s Annual One for India Fundraiser - Making everyONE Count!

Change starts with ONE, Be the ONE, To reach every ONE

AID Boston invites you to give some, share the joy and make a difference in lives of people this holiday season. Join us in our effort to be the part of the change through our One For India (OFI) campaign. A life of self-reliance and dignity not only requires access to livelihood, good health or a good education in isolation, but also a good understanding of the interconnected nature of all these. That is why AID has worked for the past 22 years, with its partners on interconnected solutions, including agriculture, women’s empowerment, ecological -protection and social change. AID with your support is able partner with over 120 projects and has disbursed over $1 million dollars in 17 Indian states .

Your donation, small or large will go a long way, for instance:

1.   $60 supports a bicycle for one village health worker allowing her to get to an emergency that much sooner in Chhattisgarh.

2.   $75 monthly donation supports extra tuition for furthering girl education in Gujarat.

3.   $150 monthly donation supports the running of a women’s crisis center in Rajasthan.

4.   $400 supports a sustainable organic farming program in a village, helping make farmers self-reliant in West Bengal.

Volunteers and donors like you facilitate AID in its mission. To meet this year’s goal of $20,000, we need your support. Help us by making a donation and by spreading the word. Invite your friends, family and colleagues to become partners with AID - be an agent for change, by becoming an advocate for the poor.

When you give to AID, you don’t just make a charitable donation, you become a partner in the process of making a difference in the life of innumerable people. You become an enabler of a new society built on sustainable development. Visit our website, www.oneforindia.org/boston to find out more and make a donation.

No contribution is too small or too large--whether it is $0.25 or $100 a day--when we remember that more than 320 millions Indians are living with less than $0.50 (Rs. 26) a day!

AID (www.aidindia.org) is a volunteer movement promoting sustainable, equitable development and social justice. We partner organizations with grassroots groups in India working on the interconnected spheres of agriculture, health, education, livelihoods, women's empowerment and social justice.
