Colossal Community Services Happening at NESSP
New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar (NESSP) was formed by devotees who share their untainted love for Shri Shirdi Sai Baba and are inspired by His teachings. NESSP was registered as a Non-profit organization in the year 2006
NESSP has been formed to bring together all devotees of Shirdi Sai Baba from the Boston, Greater Boston, and New England and beyond to spread the message of Baba. Along with a Vision of building a permanent temple for Baba, the parivaar’s mission is to spread the message of love, kindness, unity and make a meaningful contribution to the welfare of the mankind without any distinction of religion, region, race, sector personal belief.
Since the inception, our vision was to construct a Permanent Place in the form of a Temple, for Shri Sai in the area which will be a center for social and spiritual activities promoting Sai Baba’s message of Shraddha (Faith) and Saburi (Patience). As part of the community services that NESSP offers, classes are held for children and adults like free yoga and meditation sessions on Saturdays by professional trainers and on all days of the week and are limited by our abilities to expand on these services. Considering parents who visit the temple for their Beloved Sadguru, NESSP serve them by providing services like Sloka classes, dance classes, music classes, free chess classes, and learning our Vedic scriptures. NESSP also conducts academic competitions annually for the kids of all grades that include Chess, Vocabulary bee, Geography bee and Essay writing. This year the competitions will be held from December 12th through December14th. (Please check www.nessp.org for more details)
In addition to temple related activities, NESSP also believes in helping the community that it is part of. We have an active Charitable and Philanthropy charter. NESSP strives to serve the community through different charitable activities like Back to school-Backpack drive, Disaster Relief, Food for the homeless shelter, Winter Clothes drive - Collection and distribution of warm winter clothes to the needy, Red Cross Blood donation drives, Lowell General hospital cancer center walks and free health camps.
As a part of the parivaar, Kids get to involve in various volunteering services like serving water, Food, recycling waste material and also take part in lot of fun filled activities that includes but not limited to Chess, Sloka classes, Story Telling, Bhajans. Along with the religious activities, kids also socialize with friends while the parents are engrossed in prayers. We are constantly working to enhance the youth activities which include College counseling, sessions by eminent educationists, Academic competitions including Geographical bee, spelling bee and trips to MIT.
NESSP is run by dedicated volunteers. We are blessed to have a very strong and committed volunteer base and that is our strength. NESSP as a Parivaar has been growing rapidly and the existing space seems limited. To enhance and continue the mission and vision, we need to expand the infrastructure and the facilities. As part of making our vision into reality, NESSP have acquired a 28 acre parcel of land in the town of Groton, MA which will be the permanent home for Baba. We are looking forward for a strong support from the community and be part of this divine project and contribute towards the Baba’s permanent temple.
Variety of Fund raising options are available towards the Land and temple construction such as the “Divine
tree-Leaf”, “Brick”; “Square foot” and “dollar a day” towards the day to day
temple operations and many more. For more
