Maadhurya – A Grand Of Evening Of Music And Dance

Melody is all around us! The subtle sounds of nature, such as the gentle flow of mountain streams, winds whistling through treetops, and the chirping of birds come together and harmonize into a tranquil, balanced panorama of sound and movement. In experiencing and appreciating this harmony, we are able to bring out the best of our human spirit, and come to a deeper understanding of our intrinsic connection with everything around us.

Art is one of the powerful mediums in bringing out the harmony with nature, and to establish strong human bond to serve, heal and provide for those in need. Focusing on this concept Mandaara New England Kannada Koota’s (NEKK) charity and social service wing “Seva Mandaara” has put together a talented team of artistes to present an intricate ensemble of music and dance, “Maadhurya: Madhur Samanvay of Sur, Taal and Seva”, an event that highlights the balance of melody, rhythm, and movement, in addition to representing the soulful responses to the beauty of nature.  

Many enthusiastic individuals, business and community leaders have joined hands in working towards making this a successful event. The response from the community has been excellent and the team continues to receive humble support from several organizations in the region in addition to the support from many prominent health and IT professionals. .

This meticulously planned cultural extravaganza will be held at the state of the art auditorium at Ashland High School, Ashland MA on Saturday, the December 6, 2014. Major proceeds of the event will benefit Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled and Ekal Vidyalaya. Being a benefit concert, the event brings together a consortium of classical dancers and musicians to present an array of mesmerizing performances.  

The music section of the event comprises of popular artistes like Deepti Navaratna and Sowmyashree Sandeep as vocalists, Pravin Sitaram and Amit Kavthekar on percussion, K.V.S. Vinay on violin, and Sarita Deshpande  on harmonium. The dance section includes well-known artistes such as Sridevi Ajai Thirumalai, Poornima Risbud, Pallavi Nagesha, Deepa Srinath, Chand Sripad along with many enthusiastic performers.  

Samarthanam Trust ’s mission is to empower the visually impaired, disabled and underprivileged people in India, through developmental initiatives focusing educational, social, economic, cultural and technological aspects.

 

Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation is a charitable trust that initiates, supports, and runs one-teacher schools (popularly known as Ekal Vidyalayas) all over India. With the participation of numerous non-profit trusts and organizations, this program has now become the greatest education movement in the country.

We are very happy to note that Samrthanam and Ekal officials for USA are both located here in Boston area. Mr. Subu Kota, a seasoned entrepreneur, is President of Samarthanam USA and Ranjani Saigal, an accomplished technology professional in the field of Education for over 25 years at the MIT and Tufts university, is the Executive Director of Ekal Vidyalaya foundation of USA.  

Mandaara NEKK is a Boston based non-profit organization that brings together the people of Karnataka origin of India in the New England Region. Seva Mandaara is a focus wing of Mandaara NEKK of like-minded volunteers, service oriented individuals, involved in fundraising initiatives and regional social service projects. Since its inception, it has actively participated in Food Collection Drive for the Ashland Pantry, Community Harvest Project, Project Bread, and Cradles to Crayons in the Greater Boston area. The enthusiastic group has also raised funds for Uttaranchal flood disaster, and Bengaluru based charities such as “Belaku” and “Margadarshi”. Now, Maadhurya is yet another great initiative by Seva Mandaara that promises to be a grand concert of the year 2014.

At Maadhurya event, one can expect classical, semi-classical, folk and popular music in varied languages like Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Telugu and Tamil. Varied dance segments of multi-genres with live accompaniment.  With its series of classic segments, the enchanting evening will certainly be a treat to lovers of music and dance art, in addition to bringing joy of giving to everyone with their support to benefit organizations.
