TiE Boston Monthly Dinner With Harvard Business School Dean Nitin Nohria

10/09/2014

TiE Monthly Dinners are back! The event returns on October 28th at Burlington Marriott with Harvard Business School’s Dean, Nitin Nohria, delivering a keynote on “Entrepreneurs:  Building Businesses, Driving Prosperity.” The monthly dinner is a great opportunity to network with thought leaders, serial entrepreneurs, and industry peers, while hearing a thought provoking keynote address.

“The monthly dinners attract entrepreneurs, investors, C-level executives from Boston’s top companies, and the best and brightest talent in New England. Entrepreneurs have testified that the connections they made at these events have led them to finding cofounders, forging alliances, securing investments and closing business,” said Gaugarin Oliver, President of TiE Boston.  â€œWe’ve recently implemented new opportunities to network, ensuring attendees can maximize their time at the event. The new format of the monthly dinner will include informal discussions and introductions at each dinner table led by assigned Charter Members, who are successful entrepreneurs, thought leaders, venture capitalists, or senior executives,” added Oliver Gaugarin, President of the chapter.

Entrepreneurs create tremendous value for society.  However, starting a company is not the same as building a business.  Nohria, an expert on leadership and organizational effectiveness, will talk about how entrepreneurs are only as good as the people they attract and other hallmarks of successful entrepreneurs.  There will be significant discussions, question and answer sessions after Nohria’s remarks.

Nohria is the tenth dean of Harvard Business School. His previous positions at Harvard Business School include serving as co-chair of the Leadership Initiative, Senior Associate Dean of Faculty Development, and Head of the Organizational Behavior unit. Nohria is a big proponent innovation. Recent examples of activities under Nohria’s leadership at Harvard Business School include launch of Harvard Innovation Lab and the U.S. Competitiveness Project.
