New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar Celebrates Ganesha Navratri Utsav

One day, a “dasa” walking on the street saw a music teacher scolding his disciple since she had failed to pick up the raga though she had been learning music since one whole year. The dasa offered to help the girl and sang a song which the girl instantly picked up and began singing melodiously.

Since that day, that is the first song which students of Carnatic music learn. The song itself is in praise of every child's and parent’s beloved god, and the remover of all obstacles.

The “dasa” was none other than the great “purandara dasa” the father of Carnatic music. Gratefully remembering Purandara Dasa for giving the world such a lovely song,

New England Shirdi Sai Temple celebrated the Ganesha Navratri Utsav starting with the Ganesha pooja on Friday, the 29th of August 2014. Ganesha Harathis and Special Poojas were performed on all the Navaratri days. The festivities concluded  with the Nimajjanotsavam on 7th September 2014, which included the offerings of 21 types of Bhog Samarpana. The entire navaratri was a divine visual treat watching Ganpati Bappa and Sai Baba sitting next to each other, and offering blessings to all the devotees.​
