Little Stars Shine At Bal Manch

On 29th June, Maynard High school, Maynard, MA transformed into galaxy of little shining stars, their sparkle was felt across the New England Area. Hindi Manch which has been bringing Hindi Cultural events  from past more than three years, showcased one of the most sought after events of the summer "Baal Evam Yuva Manch", where about 100 children, aged 5-15 yrs performed various acts in Hindi Language like Short Plays, Skits, Group Song, Poetry Recitation etc. While their ability to perform in a language which is close to all of us living far away from our motherland moved the audience, the prowess of the language shown by some kids amazed everyone in the auditorium.

The Program was kick started by amazingly talented father-son duo; Ajay Jaisingh and his 10 year old son, Gaurav Jaisingh. The first segment of the program was hosted by them; they presented a jubilant conversation between father and son promoting Hindi. Ajay Introduced the first guests of the event, members of Asha Organization, which is working from past 13 years to educate underprivileged children in India, Asha Boston chapter has helped 10000 children to get the proper education. Mr. Mohan Dali, founder member of Hindi Manch honored all the members of Asha Boston, Akshay Bhole, Sunayana Chawla, Sanam Dharma, Rohit Singhal and Moulik Nagri, the inaugural candle was lit by Mr. Moulik Nagri.

The first presentation in this segment was “Samuh Gaan” (a group Song) based on Rag Basant Bahar, performed by Selina banerji,  Procheta Ghosh, Medha Morpariya, Khushi Morpariya, Raina Parikh, Disha Sankholkar and Ritika Saxena, the super talented students of Learn Quest Academy under the guidance of Dr. Pradeep Shukla. The performance was greatly applauded by the audience.  Taking the program forward, Mrs. Gayatri Aryan and Ms. Trisha introduced Mrs. Aruna Varshney who has been associated with Shishu Bharti, Lexington and has been tirelessly teaching Hindi Language to the next generation from many years. She  was honored by Dr. Satish Palayam who runs Happy Kids dental office in Framingham and is associated with Hindi Manch for a long time.

Before moving to the second presentation of the event, President of Hindi Manch Mr. Preetesh Shrivastava was called upon the stage, he is a very well known face in the community and famous for his efforts to encourage the Hindi language and culture in New England area. Shrivastava delivered the key note of the event and in his known witty style, summarized the necessity of such events in our community and explained how it helps our children to get associated with the language of our native land. He also announced the "Baal Yuva Vibhag" of Hindi Manch and introduced its members, Mrs. Suman Garhwal, Mrs. Gayatri Aryan, Mrs. Neelam Wali and Mr. Ajay Jaisingh.  The second presentation was "Ankhon Dekha Haal" a skit of various jokes, organized by Sneh Jaisingh and performed by Gaurav Jaisingh, Riti Jain, Riya Bala, Sanjana Yadav, Aditya Yadav, Arushi Mittal, Anish Mittal, Keshav Kumar, Aryan Kumar, Shivam Goyal and Abhijay Shukla. The act was received well by the audience, the little actors' expressions and command over language was commendable.

The next segment was hosted by Mrs. Suman Garhwal and her daughter Tanisha Garhwal. The Mother-daughter eloquently taken over the stage and moved the program forward. Organized by Mr. Paresh Motiwala "E-Puja" was the next skit performed by  Mansi Dang, Anuradha Dang, Anika Singh, Ayaan Singh, Azaan Merchant, Navya Shukla and others. The skit was a satire on our dependency on the Internet. It showed how our life revolves around Internet and how it plays the God's role in this e-Era or e-Yug. Shishu Bharti, Lexington, in the next presentation introduced the audience to rich philosophy of ancient India through legendry "Kabir ke Dohe", the poems written by mystic poet Kabir. The Lyrical recitation was organized by Sonia Gera and presented by Akshita Rao, Akshay Rao, Sakhsi Gera, Shraddha Lalla, Anshika Srivastava, Shivani Gupta, Advay Goyal, Apoorva Hegde, Vaishnavi Viji, Sanchi Joshi, Mansi Gera and Astha Gupta.    
 
Mr. Anish Khanzode one of the Directors of Hindi Manch announced the most awaited event of New England Area, Hindi Manch Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Hindi Manch has been successfully conducting this music competition in New England area which has produced some very talented singers. The most important part of the announcement was that the finale will be judged by one of the most respected and famous playback singers from Indian Film Fraternity Mr. Suresh Wadekar. He will also perform live on stage for about 1.5 hrs on the finale event, said Mr. Khanzode. He also appealed to all music lovers/singers  to take this opportunity to showcase their event and get ready for the audition which are going to start soon, all the information is available on www.hindimanch.org and Hindi Manch's Facebook page.

Mrs. Suman Garhwal and Ms. Tanisha Garhwal were back on the stage to get the program going. The next skit was "Kal Aaj aur Hum" organized by Mrs. Gayatri Aryan and performed by Aditya Aryan, Anisha Aryan, Arishka Jha, Aryan Bhadoriya, Abhyuday Rathore, Dushyant Singh, Shourya Gupta, Shanveer Gupta, Nipun Goyal, Anya Goyal, Tanmay Sharma and Aadi Sharma. The skit took the audience to early 90s when every parent took Panchtantra's small stories for moralizing the little kids. The group of children also portrayed the modern version of  "Ek Chidiya" the famous Doordarshan's educational video released in 1974 which acquired a cult status during 1990s and taught about One, Many, and Unity.

The next guest called upon stage was Mr. Pankaj Verma from Chinmaya Mission which runs Bal Vihar and works to pass on the cultural heritage to next generation through the language. Other than Hindi, Bal Vihar also conducts classes in many other Indian regional languages. Mr. Verma was honored by Sanjay Thakkar from Max New York Life, he has been associated with Hindi Manch for many years and has been a great contributor to all programs. The Program was into its next segment and this time it was a small play which truly lived upto its title  "Masti Ki Pathshala". The play was organized by Vijay Ejankar and presented by very talented young actors, Venya Khare, Ashna Mahurkar, Aisha Mahurkar,  Nayonika Singh, Arthrika Singh, Ashnil Ejankar, Ashriya Ejankar, Mihika Shinde, Ragini Shinde, Ridhan Ayyagari, Raghav Shrivastava, Ayaan Srivastava, Yuvaan Rasaiya and Lavanya Rasaiya. The play showcased how the class of little kids prank their teacher, more to her surprise the Principle and Vice Principal were also part of it. The kids of the class later play "Panchtantra's Story - Kauve ki Kahani" (The clever Crow) with a little twist. The play ends with beautifully crafted, Hindi Version of most famous American folk song "This Land Is Your Land" as "Ye Hai Teri Zameen" presented  on stage by all the performers of Masti Ki Pathshala, the auditorium roared with applause.

The Program moved forward and this segment was hosted by Malini Vardarajan and Sakhi Pola, the next presentation was a "Kavi Sammelan" by students of Shishu Bharti, Walpole. A beautiful poetry on Mother's love and affection was organized by Renu Tiwari and recited by Aadi Agrawal, Anushka Chillale, Tanvi Mittal, Arnav Joshi, Khushi Shah, Sonia Bhattacharya, Adam Mulla, Samarth Srinath, Sana Dhillon, Ananya Agrawal, Nishka Joshi and Sanjli Jindal. The program was at its last segment and the Microphone was once again in the hands of none other than the President of Hindi Manch himself, Mr. Preetesh Shrivastava, he appreciated the performances of all the presenters in his unique style. Shrivastava introduced all the Founding Members, Directors, Core Committee Members of Hindi Manch to the audience and delivered a thank you note. He also appealed to join Hindi Manch and support the organization to nourish our heritage and our culture.   

The last presentation of the Program was Hindi version of famous English story "Maleficent" as "Vighatak". The play was organized by Ruchika Arora and performed by Diya Arora, Shaifali Bakre, Miley Arora, Ashmi Arkshali, Seth Lupo, Darius Lupo, Samay Sahu, Meghna Sridhar and Sarah Vyas. The makeup, costume and the props used for the play were testimony for the efforts put behind this wonderful play. All actors' easiness with the dialogues and the scene sequences was lauded open heartedly by the audience.     

As the wonderful event came to its end, Chief Guests, Mr. Raj Munde from Pratham Organization, Mr. Anil Saigal, President of Indian Association of Greater Boston (IAGB), Mrs. Praveena Nadutota, Director IAGB, Mrs. Vinita and Mr. Harish Dang from Sounds of India and key sponsor of the event Mr. Manish Arora from Verizon Wireless, were honored by Hindi Manch team. All the performers were also called upon stage, given a token of appreciation and the certificates of participation by the Chief Guests.
