Cast: Priyanshu Chatterjee, Neha Dhupia, Kumar Sanu
Music: Kumar Sanu
Singers: Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu, Sapna Mukesh, Hema Sardesai, Asha Bhosle, Sonu Nigam

In keeping with trend of wearing different hats melody king Kumar Shanu  tries his hand and production and music composition. 'Utthaan' starring Neha Dhupia and Priyanshu Chatterjee under his banner Kumar Sanu Communication Pvt. Ltd is directed by Ujjwal Chatterjee whose last attempt was ‘Escape From Taliban' .

Considering that Kumar Sanu has delivered some great performances in the past, one has high expectations. The track opens with Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik rendering a love duet ‘Ab Neend Kise’ and unfortunately it offers nothing out of the ordinary. It is a sweet catchy song, fairly fast paced but it seems more a familiar tune and the remix also is not very impressive.

Next is 'Abhi Tum Ho Kamsin', which is yet another love song after 'Ab Neend Kise'.  It is a nice melodious number where Sapna Mukesh joins him.  It is a nice song though not sure that it would create an impact.

‘Yeh Kaisa Utthan Hai’ in rendered none other than Asha Bhonsle herself!  It is perhaps the best number in the album. It has a philosophical theme. Sudhakar Sharma’s lyrics and Kumar Sanu’s music makes this a special piece. There is a male version of the same track by Sonu Nigam which is not bad as well.

'Thok Dalega' by Hema Sardesai is a situational item number. While her voice is nice but the music is rather dull

While role reversal for composers like Himesh Reshammaiya  has been successful, it has not worked for Kumar Sanu. A disappointing soundtrack indeed!
