Brahmachari Dayamrita Chaitanya is a senior monastic disciple of Sri Mata Amritanandamayi and Director of the Mata Amritanandamayi Center (M. A. Center) in San Ramon, CA.  Proficient in music he has led the singing of bhajans  throughout the United States and also in South America over the past 7 years.  Accompanied on the tabla and the keyboard and harmonium his sonorous voice lifts the audience into spiritual realms.  Brahmachari Dayamrita has also lectured widely in this country on Indian spirituality and sought to spread the message of compassion for all taught by India’s beloved saint Sri Mata Amritanandamayi by her own example of tireless service to humanity.

 

Sri Mata Amritanandamayi  most notably recently received the prestigious Gandhi-King award for non-violence in Oct 2002 and was keynote speaker at the United Nations Millenium Peace Summit in 2000 and at the Global Peace Initiative of Women Religious and Spiritual Leaders in 2002 in Geneva.  She has established extensive humanitarian projects for the poor and suffering in India.
