Srimad Bhagavata Saptaham / NEHTI
As it happens every year, this year too, by the grace of Bhagavan and Mother Mahalakshmi, the Bhagavata Saptaham (7-days of Srimad Bhagavatam) is being conducted by our Ashland Lakshmi Temple in view of the Krishna Jayanthi celebrations in the temple. This year, the event will include 'Katha Shravanam' (listening to the Bhagavatam katha) in lieu of Parayanam. By the anugraham of Bhagavan and the Sadguru, yours truly has been ordained to discourse on this glorious purana - Srimad Bhagavatam, during these seven days.
The event started Tuesday Aug 16th with Bhagavata Mahatmyam outlined from Sri Padma Purana. Next we will be listening to the charitras of great Bhagavatas like Narada, Bhishma, Parikshit, Dhruva, Jadabharata, Ajamila, Vritrasura, Prahlada, Gajendra, Bali and Ambareesha, and also enjoying the nectar of all the avataras of Bhagavan - namely Varaha Avatara, Nrisimha Avatara, Koorma Avatara, Matsya Avatara, Pruthu Avathara, Vamana-Trivikrama Avatara, Rama Avatara, culminating with Bhagavan Sri Krishna's Avatara (on Janmashtami day - Sunday Aug 21st) and then relishing the nectar of Krishna Leela, culminating with Rukmini Vivaham as a Sri Jayanthi special celebration.
