Kalpanam
Kalpanam is a celebration of South Asia's rich classical culture through music and dance. The evening will feature the compelling storytelling and rhythmic elements of Bharatanatyam, a dance form of South India, and use these dramatic traditions as a medium to explore the universality of human emotion. The show traces the classical navarasa (or nine emotions) of love, valor, compassion, fury, humor, fear, disgust, wonder, and peace, across various mythological traditions, historical events, contemporary social issues, and everyday stories, in order to demonstrate the evocative power of the art form. Set to both classical and contemporary music, the show promises to be a moving and memorable creative journey that you will not want to miss.
