Odissi Dance: Classical Dance of East India
Sonali Mishra performs Odissi dance, the classical dance form hailing from the state of Orissa, India. Renowned for its lyrical grace, sculpturesque beauty, and haunting music, Odissi remains one of the world’s most complex and highly evolved forms of dance. The performance will feature choreography by four generations of Odissi dance Gurus. Ms. Mishra, a second-generation Indian American, has trained extensively in her home state of Orissa, India. She has performed widely in India, Canada, the US and the UK.
