Sangeet Sammelan - Classical Music Conference
LearnQuest Academy of Music of Waltham, Massachusetts will host a two-day Indian classical music conference (Sangeet Sammelan) on Saturday, April 15th and Sunday, April 16th at the Fine Arts Center of Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts.
Famous and established artists, such as Ustad Imrat Hussein Khan, Ali Ahmad Hussein Khan, Ashwini Bhide, Gundecha Brothers, Nayan Ghosh as well as some of the rising stars of Indian music will grace the stage. Featured instruments will include sitar, sarod, shehnai, sarengi, bansuri (flute), violin, veena, keyboard, tabla, and mridangam. Vocal traditions will span the rare Dhrupad, as well as the more contemporary Kheyal styles. In a special musical tribute to diversity, a Carnatic and Hindustani Jugalbandi and a unique item, called Music Triveni is planned where the artists of diverse music persuasions, namely Hindustani, Carnatic and Western Jazz, will blend their music together, uniting in the common purpose of musical expression.
