Carnatic Violin Concert / Dr. Mysore Manjunath & Arun Ramamurthy
Dr. Mysore M. Manjunath, the son and disciple of renowned violinist Sangeetha VidhyaNidhi Prof. S.Mahadevappa, was a child prodigy who matured quickly to emerge as one of the top ranking violinists in India today. Raised in an atmosphere redolent with music, Manjunath along with his brother Nagaraj mastered a unique style characterized by pristine purity, lucidity, melody, super clarity and perfect rhythm. Individually both are complete musicians having established themselves as artists with rare insight, classicism & technical sophistication. From child prodigies to Trailblazers, captivating audiences & critics, Manjunath has created unrivalled record as star performers in prestigious organizations world over. He has won the coveted Best Violinist awards from the prestigious Madras Music Academy many times. Recently the University of Mysore awarded him the Ph.D for his scholarly thesis on Violin. Currently he is on the faculty of Department Of Music at the University of Mysore. Mysore Manjunath along with his brother Mysore Nagaraj, the true cultural ambassadors of India, has enthralled audiences in USA, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore, England, Germany, France, Gulf countries, Switzerland, Austria-etc. Their dexterity at their art has taken them to perform in several prestigious Universities as well.

Arun Ramamurthy is a very accomplished young violinist whose initial training in Western music gave him his precise bowing and fingering techniques. He studied Carnatic music from the esteemed violinist Sri Anantha Krishnan and presently Arun is his principal disciple. Arun recently stayed in India for several months and has received training from Mysore Nagaraj & Mysore Manjunath. He has performed in numerous concerts including at Cleveland Aradhana and has accompanied eminent artists like Manjunath, Trichur Ramachandran
Pravin Sitaram hails from a family that is steeped in Carnatic music tradition. Introduced to mridangam at the age of 8, Pravin has learnt from Shri P. S. Parameswaran , a disciple of the legendary Palghat T. S. Mani Iyer. Pravin has accompanied several artistes of outstanding caliber both from India and locally -the late Dr. Chitti Babu, Shri S. R. Janakiraman, Lalgudi Shri G.J.R. Krishnan, Lalgudi Smt. Vijayalaksmi, Guitar Prasanna, Sikkil Mala Chandrasekhar and Flute Raman - to name a few. Pravin has been teaching mridangam to several students over the past five years. He is a member of the faculty at the Learnquest > Academy of Music in Waltham, MA.
