Nachle Dance Competition
We are proud to announce that we will be holding NachLe Dance Competition again this year. It will be on Nov 8, 2014 after the Annual Diwali Cultural Show. Important Dates and Rules: Auditions (if needed): October 19 or 26th, 2014 at India Center (Top performers in each category will compete on Nov 8, 2014 live) Deadline: October 15th, 2014 Rules: 1. Only one entry per group or per individual participant allowed. i.e. One participant cannot perform across multiple groups. They can have an individual entry and a group entry though 2. Only 18+ is allowed. Any group or participant performing below the age of 18 will be disqualified. Be prepared to present proof of age. 3. Maximum performance length is 5 minutes. There will be negative marking for every minute exceeded 4. Costumes, lyrics and moves need to be culturally appropriate 5. Only one age group 18+ 6. No registration fee. Participants will be charged $5 per participant if they are a non-member for Nov 8 performance 7. Please get prior approval from us if you need to use special props like smoke machines and disco balls 8. Judges decision will be final and will be based on merit. No appeals will be permitted. Judges will be selected by ISW 9. There will be pre-assigned slots for each performance and we will not make changes to schedule to accommodate preferences. You may need to perform out of order due to unexpected circumstances 10. Participants need to appear in person for auditions and will be disqualified if they do not show up for auditions. We welcome music and dance styles from all over the world. Judging criteria: Criteria Points Entry 5 Exit/Conclusion 5 Originality/Innovation 20 Action (facial expression) 20 Coordination & Synchronization 20 Costume/Jewelry 15 Song selection 15 Steps, Choreography, Rhythm 50 Overall Impression 50 TOTAL 200 Consent form needs to be signed for each participant.
