In a short span of two years, the school has produced many young chess players in the area who are winning at various competitions. At the recently held NH Team Scholastic Chess event at Epping High School, NH, on April 13, 2013, twenty players forming five teams led by Kavyashree, won top honours. There were total Eighty Participants representing different cities of NH school districts and Chess clubs playing this uscf rated event.

The highest rated Team1 from Celestial Minds, Suhas Katikaneni, Akhil Kammila, Anish Kammila defended their 2012 Championship in style and made the community proud by winning the Championship Title in the Elementary category.

Kavyashree is hopeful that Chess is taken up by more and more children at a young age because Team Chess creates bonding amongst the chess players even when they compete against each other. It also helps build the much needed sportsman spirit and children learn to take the results, even when not in their favor, positively. Although the results encourage players and schools , Kavya believes this kind of engagement with Chess helps holistic approach. So here’s wishing many more Chess events and many more little champions.
