Having rocked Keefe Tech in March 2012 at the Bollywood Fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the bar had already been set extremely high. (Read more about this event at http://www.lokvani.com/lokvani/article.php?article_id=8021). Somen & Lopa lived up to those lofty expectations every second of the way at “Diwali Dhamaka” hosted by Chinese Mirch In Framingham. The place was packed and the music was, simply put, mesmerizing.

From timeless Bollywood classics like Musafir Hoon Yaron, Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko to latest melodies such as Khuda Jaane and powerful duets such as Kaanchi Re Kaanchi Re kept the audience captivated from start to finish. Somen's perfect vocal renditions coupled with Lopa's melodious accompaniment were truly a match made in heaven. It was fascinating watching countless diners go up to the singers to share with them how touched they were by their performance.

Chinese Mirch was elegantly dressed up for Diwali thanks to the attention to detail by owners Saket Lohia and Tarang Jain. They provided the ambiance, the food and the personalized attention that people have come to expect at their restaurant. The Chaatwali galli stall planned and manned by Chief Chef Saket which featured such delicacies as Bhel, Dahl Bhalla, Chatpata Corn, Rabri saw a constant flow of spicy thrill seekers. Chinese Mirch lived up to its recent accolade of being “one of the best vegetarian eats” in Boston by the Boston Globe magazine.

You can see this magical duo weave their musical magic at one of their upcoming shows. We can guarantee you that it will be one for the memory book.
