An Evening with World Famous Dancer Saswat Joshi and Team Lasyakala

International Odissi, folk-dance artist & choreographer Saswat Joshi and Team Lashykala, as part of their current US tour, performed at Christalight Auditorium and Event Hall, Bellingham MA on July 28 evening to a houseful attendance. Team Lashykala comprising of six more talented artists in Sagarika Mohanty, Swagatika Rath, Jagruti Rath, Mitali Sarangi, Bibhudutta Das and Sonal Acharya along with Dance Master Saswat Joshi, as he’s popularly known in Indian film industry, put together an amazing show of classical, folk-dance and popular dance performances.

The evening started with an introduction of the Guru Saswat Joshi followed by a tribute to Mother Earth, Nabakalebar (symbolic recreation of the wooden forms of four Hindu deities at Jagannath Temple, Puri) and folk-treasurers of Odisha.

At the end the people of New England got a chance to meet these artists up close, interacted with them about their performances and some of them learned few steps from the Rangabati King of Bollywood, Saswat Joshi.

People of New England amazed by the quality of performances one after another and the energy level of these artists who kept the audience enthralled and engaged during the 3 hours of performances.
